Among them is the winning geometry combination #46094, an up-cut direction bit with a diameter of 1/4, cutting height of 3/4, shank diameter of 1/4, overall length of 2-1/2, and 3 flutes. This solid carbide up-cut spiral router bit is 1/4 inch in diameter, with a cutting height of 3/4, a 1/4 inch shank, and a 2-1/2 inch length, making it suitable for cutting composite, fiberglass, and phenolic materials with a ZRN coating. The zirconium nitride (ZrN) coating offers several benefits. Firstly, it creates a harder and tougher cutting edge, resulting in a prolonged cutting edge life. Secondly, it helps prevent the build-up of material in the flutes during cutting. Additionally, tools with ZrN coating have the tendency to run/spin much faster than uncoated tools.
